Chat & FAQ
Using AI to Build a Chat FAQ for Live Selling: Faster, More Consistent Answers
When a live gets busy, chat moves fast and most questions repeat: how much, when does it ship, how do returns work, is my size available. If you have to think up each answer from scratch, the stream slows down, and sometimes two people asking the same thing get two different answers. The simple fix is an answer bank (FAQ) prepared before you go live. AI can help you build it faster, but the facts have to come from you, and you have to check them.
Step 1: Put the real facts in one place
AI doesn't know your shop. Before asking it to write anything, list the exact details:
- Prices, bundle or size pricing, and promotion dates if any.
- Shipping fees, delivery times, areas covered and carriers.
- Return policy: how long, what conditions, who pays the shipping.
- Ingredients or materials, usage instructions and expiry if relevant.
- Payment methods and how to contact you after purchase.
Step 2: Ask AI to turn them into short answers
Give AI all of the facts above together with a prompt like this:
You are a customer-support assistant for a live-selling seller in Vietnam.
Using ONLY the information below, write an FAQ of 15 questions customers often ask in live chat, with sample answers.
Requirements:
- Each answer is at most 2 sentences, friendly, easy to type fast or read aloud.
- If something isn't in the data, write [NEEDS INFO] instead of guessing.
- Do not invent prices, promotions, delivery times or guarantees.
- Group by topic: price, shipping, returns, using the product.
Shop information:
[paste your facts here]The “[NEEDS INFO]” line matters. It forces AI to show you the gaps instead of filling them with something that sounds plausible but is wrong.
Step 3: A human checks every line
AI can write fluent answers that are wrong. It may mix up a fee, add a perk that never existed or describe return conditions incorrectly. When you say it in front of hundreds of viewers, you are responsible, not the AI. Compare each answer against your price list, shop policy and the platform's rules. Pay special attention to anything with money, time limits or promises.
Step 4: Use the FAQ during the live
- Keep it open on a second screen or printed, grouped by topic so you can find things quickly.
- If someone helps you moderate chat, give them the same copy so answers stay consistent.
- Mention or pin the most-asked details, like shipping fees and returns, near the start of the stream.
- Note new questions that come up so you can add them afterwards.
Update it after every live
After the stream, paste the new questions into AI and ask for draft answers, then verify them the same way. After a few lives you'll have an FAQ that reflects what your own customers really care about. Whenever your prices, policies or the platform's rules change, update the FAQ right away so the old version doesn't keep being used. Always check each platform's latest policy on what you may say about products and promotions.
